Every year, thousands of kids across Canada are injured, or killed by furniture toppling over on them. You’re life can be changed in the blink of an eye.
I never thought it would happen to me, I’m such a helicopter parent, my kids were always within arms reach . One day, while I was in the shower, my husband was folding laundry and watching my youngest. He was around 2 yrs old at the time. a few minutes after stepping into the shower, I hear the most blood curdling scream, coming from my husband (he’s a big burly guy, to manly to show emotion, you know the type). I jump out of the shower, shampoo still in my hair and run to the bedroom. By the time I got to the room, my husband was holding my son in his arms, covered in blood.
It turns out, my husband had taken his eyes off the little monkey for a second to fold a piece of laundry, and the little guy started to climb up the tall stand up dresser, it fell over on him, trapping him between the foot board of the bed and the dresser. Luckily he just needed a couple stitches on the back of his head, and it wasn’t any worse.
Needless to say, we went out and bought wall anchoring kits for all of the furniture in our house and had them installed the same day.
Lucky for you, IKEA is giving the wall anchoring kits away for free, including free shipping.
There is a limit of 5 free kits per person.
